Who Will Shape Your 2025?

This year, I’m starting with people—because the relationships we nurture don’t just influence our days, they shape our lives

Welcome to a new year—a blank slate full of possibilities.

The start of a year often brings with it the rush to set goals, craft resolutions, and sprint toward the next big thing. But as 2025 begins, I’ve been thinking about something different: not just what I want to achieve, but who I want to spend my time with. Because, let’s face it: the people we surround ourselves with don’t just influence our days—they shape our lives in profound ways.

For me, ambition isn’t just about goals or milestones anymore. It’s about alignment. It’s about choosing to invest my energy in the relationships that inspire me, lift me up, and challenge me. That’s why, as I plan for 2025, I’m starting with people.

Planning My Year Around People

At the start of every year, I like to think about the people I want to spend time with and how I can make it happen. Over the holidays, I’ve been mapping this out, along with trips to turn those plans into reality—some to reconnect with close friends, others to collaborate with partners. For me, travel isn’t just about seeing new places; it’s about deepening existing relationships and forming new ones.

This year, I’m prioritizing a trip to the US in the spring to catch up with old friends and clients, a summer in Europe to spend time with family, and a few trips to Asia to connect with loved ones and explore new opportunities. These aren’t just vacations—they’re intentional choices to nurture the relationships that matter most to me.

Why This Matters

As I get older, I’ve come to realize that relationships are the foundation of a meaningful life. The people I choose to prioritize shape my energy, my ideas, and my sense of purpose. Here’s what I’ve learned:

  • Inspiration: The right people challenge me to think bigger, act bolder, and step outside my comfort zone.

  • Joy: Shared moments—whether over a meal, a walk, or a deep conversation—are where life feels richest.

  • Grounding: When life feels overwhelming, these connections remind me of what really matters.

And here’s where ambition comes in. I used to think ambition was a solo pursuit. A drive to push harder, achieve more, and prove something to myself or others. But I’ve learned that ambition is magnified by the people we surround ourselves with. The conversations that spark new ideas, the encouragement to take a bold step, or even the quiet support that helps us keep going—ambition thrives in connection.

This isn’t just about personal relationships. It’s also about the people I want to collaborate with professionally. Building a life aligned with my values means surrounding myself with people who share them, both personally and in work.

What About You?

As we step into 2025, I invite you to reflect: Who are the people you want to prioritize this year? Maybe it’s reconnecting with family, investing more time in friendships, or seeking out new mentors or collaborators. It doesn’t have to be grand or complicated—it’s about being intentional.

Start small. Make a list of the people who inspire, support, and uplift you. Then think about how you can create space for them in your life this year. A trip, a call, a regular coffee date—it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.

A Year of Connection and Aligned Ambition

For me, 2025 isn’t about achieving more for the sake of it. It’s about building a life that feels aligned, starting with the people who matter most. When ambition is tied to connection, it becomes more meaningful, more purposeful, and more sustainable.

I’m excited for the conversations, the shared experiences, and the new connections ahead.

What about you? Who will shape your 2025? I’d love to hear your thoughts—hit reply and let me know how you’re prioritizing connection this year.

Here’s to a year of meaningful relationships and purposeful living.

Warmly,
